RMG's Asif Husain, MD awarded the 2019 Frist Humanitarian Award!

The Medical Center of Aurora's Frist Humanitarian Award honors outstanding individuals within HCA Healthcare for their humanitarian and volunteer activities. Nominees demonstarate remarkable concern for patients and have performed extraordinary acts of kindness, while also demonstrating a level of commitment to community service. 

Dr. Husain, who has been a physician with RMG for 15 years and on the Medical Center of Aurora's Medical Executive Committee, is a Lieutenant Colonel and Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force National Guard. He also volunteered his time in relief efforts in Texas in 2017 during Hurricane Harvey. 

The award is named for HCA Co-Founder Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Sr. who once said, "Be happy in your community. Be active. There is so much good to do in this world, and so many different ways to do it." 

Congratulations Dr. Husain! 

 

RMG's 18th Annual GI Pow Wow hosted 550+ attendees!

Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology hosted our 18th Annual GI Pow Wow conference on April 6th, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency DTC and we had more than 550 people in attendance!! Every year, we bring in some of the top GI speaker physicians from throughout the country, to provide a Gastroenterology & Hepatology update to primary care, internal medicine, family medicine providers; specialists, surgeons, nurses, advances practice providers, radiologists, dietitians and ALL members of the medical community for a FREE educational event. 

This year's speakers included:

Kimberly Brown, MD (Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit); Robert Brown, MD (Cornell); Paul Kwo, MD (Stanford); Brian Feagan, MD (Robarts Research in Ontario); James Scheiman, MD (Virginia); Peter H.R. Green, MD (Columbia); and John Inadomi, MD (Washington) -- the current VP & future President of the American Gastroenterological Association
